Stuart Chirls previously worked as digital editor for the Journal of Commerce covering container shipping, railroads, logistics, policy and global trade. He has extensively reported on manufacturing, retailing, import/export, equity markets and other business subjects for the New York Daily News, the New York Times Co. and Standard & Poor’s. He also worked in a start-up supply chain unit of chemical producer BASF. He began his journalism career writing about sports for the Star-Ledger in New Jersey. Chirls holds a B.A. in English from Tulane University.
